Lifebuoy

Bish Bash Bosh Campaign

I directed, animated and illustrated a big summer / autumn marketing campaign reintroducing Lifebuoy to the UK market. The campaign consisted of two TV commercials, an online-only animation, a print campaign, social media spots & an Oxford Circus takeover.

The brief was to encourage better hand hygiene practices through a range of Lifebuoy products such as hand sanitiser, hand wash & soap. It also helped promote the World Health Organisations hand washing technique in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Under the creative direction of Gary Marjoram and John Dean at Mullenlowe UK & production assistance from Jelly London we launched the Lifebuoy ‘Bish, Bash, Bosh’ campaign in Summer 2020.

The campaign started with a 30 second TV commercial, followed by a UK wide print rollout & takeover at the Oxford Circus underground station in London.

Working with a team of talented animators we created a series of snappy animations set to catchy doo-wop style jingles. The short films focused around the day to day life of hands and all the common ways they’re used in public spaces, reminding people to sanitise regularly.

Behind the scenes

The creative challenge was to come up with something positive, fun and upbeat whilst promoting good hygiene practice in the midst of a scary and troubling time. This took some sensitivity and thought to strike the right balance.

It was an extraordinary project at an extraordinary time. And many many hours went into making sure we got the tone just right.

The ultimate goal of this campaign was to turn something as clinical and as sterile as sanitising your hands into something fun, lighthearted and catchy.

I think we achieved that here. And then some!
